The November meeting of JOY SundaySchool Class had seven present for the carry-in dinner and a meeting following conducted by President Patty Peterson. Blessing was given by Pastor David Peterson with all in a prayer circle. Three cheer cards had been sent since the last meeting. Birthday offerings were given for Patty Peterson and Bill Watt. At this busy holiday season it is time for the JOY Annual "Over 75 " dinner, scheduled for Saturday and called "A Holiday Dinner.” The Turkey, dressing and gravy will be prepared by Lilly Coonrod and served at 5 p.m. in the Christian Church Bungalow. The annual Cookie Packing by the JOY Class will be moved to Jan. 4 after the monthly church dinner. The young people of the church are invited to help with boxing the cookies. Vera Parrish's reading this month was, “No Matter What, God is In Control.” A monetary gift was sent to the Alvarado Family because of their house fire last month. When Pastor David announced he was going to attend the North American Missionary Convention in Tulsa, Okla., he was given a Love Offering. President closed with the quotation, “Integrity has no need of Rule.”

Our Gang Nov. 22 meeting held in the Arcadia Community Center with baked potato and all the fixings with salads and home made ice cream were enjoyed by twenty or more that evening.
Ericka Suhl was life flighted to Seattle, Wash., the first week in December. Her sister, Angela Nuzum was at her side. Their parents, Sandy and Doug Nuzum who were with them in Alaska caring for the 2-year old Suhl son, soon returned to Kansas. Jean Claude Suhl, husband of the patient, applied for an extended leave from armed services while stationed in Iraq.
Autumn Leaves Senior Citizens regular meeting on the second Monday each month was posponed this week until Tuesday due to the funeral of former Arcadia resident, Lavon McKinstry. Our sympathy goes to the family. The Arcadia Funeral Committee served dinner in the Christian Church Bungalow to the McKinstry family following the service at Bedene Funeral Home on Monday. Burial was in Sheffield Cemetery.
While attending the North American Christian Missionary Convention last month in Tulsa, Okla., several ministers who had served years as missionaries in Santiago, Chile, had a pizza party during time off. Most of them were one time ministers in the Arcadia Christian Church. They included David and Rose Fish and son Greg, Phil and Susan Casey, Chris and Carol DeWelt, Joplin, Mo.; Shirley and Craig Woolsey, Tulsa; Ralph & Cindy Shead, Carl Junction, Mo.

The Arcadia City employees worked in the cold and misty weather to put up the City's street Christmas lights much to the joy of the town folks. Thank you men for the good job. It is nice to see the streets lit up as well as many decorated homes in Arcadia.
A reception was held in Ft. Scott to honor the Newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Flanner in the West Park Nazarene Church the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The groom is a former student of the Faith Christian Academy.
While Michael Shead was home for Thanksgiving, he was honored with an early birthday dinner in his parents home. Guests were his fiancee, Chrisi Playford of Michigan; Drew Hubbeling, Joel and Mitzi Ray and Cademon, Shirley Applegarth, Joy Acuna, Judah and Zoe, Maria Shead, Mark, Haley and Katy Shead, Seth and Alexandra Pruski, Mary V. Shead and the hosts, Larry and Vickie Shead.
