Deadline set
An Aug 15 sign-up deadline has been set for farm operators with no-till or strip-till crop practices or new grass plantings to sign up to sell carbon credits while taking advantage of a bonus provision to include credits for 2007 practices. AgraGate collects carbon credits from farmers, ranchers and private forest owners, assembles the credits into large bundles and sells them in the Chicago Climate Exchange. For additional information call AgraGate at (866) 633-6758 or visit www.agragate.com.
Ag ed program offered
A new do-it-yourself ag education program showcasing how many things used on a daily basis start on the farm is now available on-line at: www.kfb.org/ageducation. The program, titled “Farming is More Than Food,” demonstrates the variety of value-added production that comes from commodities grown in Kansas.
